Art Direction
Bluebird, a plug-n-play circuit board with eight built-in sensors and outputs, sends and receives information over Bluetooth and the Internet.
Bluebird playground, an iOS app, provides effortless pairing with Bluebird and visualizes its sensors and outputs as code blocks which can be connected to create projects.
App Overview
Bluebird Playground features four main sections:
Control Center, a landing page or dashboard for Bluebird, is where you can pair with a device and immediately see incoming data from the built-in sensors. You also send signals here to the LED and speaker to ensure that everything is working correctly.
Invention Builder is a block-based visual coding interface where you can create programs using Code Blocks and Behaviors Blocks.

Configure Blocks
A configuration window pops up if the block needs to be set up. Make adjustments in the window, then tap “Done”.
In My Inventions, users can see their saved projects and view sample programs for help or inspiration. Registered users can launch their saved projects from any device once they’ve logged in.
Help contains tutorials to guide new users through every facet of the Bluebird ecosystem. Interactive tutorials cover app navigation, Bluebird anatomy, basic programming concepts, logic gates.
